Lake White State Park
Located in the Appalachian foothills near the Scioto River, the cultural history of the region dates back to the early moundbuilders. The rugged region surrounding Lake White State Park offers all the ingredients for a great day outside. Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy boating, paddling and fishing.
Visitors can also enjoy the new Lake White Boater Education Center, which was opened in 2022.
The 337-acre Lake White offers unlimited horsepower boating. A launch ramp at the intersection of State Routes 551 and 104 provides access to the lake. A private marina offers additional access.
Lake White offers nice catches of bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, saugeye and catfish. The current state record for Spotted Bass was caught at Lake White in 1976.
Pike Lake State Park
Most of Ohio's state park lakes are manmade; the 13-acre lake at Pike Lake State Park is no different. It was dug by hand by the Ohio Civilian Conservation Corp of the 1930s. In addition to paddling and fishing afforded by the park's quiet lake, the park also offers a variety of seasonal cabins, family campground, and a group lodge. A nature center, hiking trails, shelter houses and swim beach round out the park's amenities.
The small 13-acre lake in the park offers good catches of largemouth bass, channel catfish, bullheads, bluegill and crappie.
Non-powered watercraft and boats with electric motors only (up to 4-1/2 horsepower) are permitted on the lake. Canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats are available for rent.
A beautiful sand beach offers a beach house with restrooms, changing areas, and outdoor showers.
